How age is calculated
The calculator counts complete years from the date of birth, then complete months, then the remaining days, the same way age is stated on official documents. When the day of the month has not yet been reached, it borrows the number of days in the previous month.
Example
Someone born on 15 August 1990 is 36 years, 1 month and 13 days old on 28 September 2026. Their next birthday, 15 August 2027, is 321 days away.
Age calculation for forms and exams
Government recruitment notices and exam forms often ask for age "as on" a cut-off date, such as 1 January or 1 August of the recruitment year. Enter that cut-off date in the "Age on" field to check eligibility for minimum and maximum age limits.
Leap-year birthdays
If you were born on 29 February, the calculator treats 28 February as your birthday in non-leap years for the countdown. Legal conventions vary by country.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate age as on a specific date?
Enter the date of birth, then change the "Age on" date to the cut-off date you need, for example 01-01-2026 for an exam form.
Is my data stored?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to a server.
